Hair salons & barbershops in Scotland may reopen

Scottish hair salons and barbers can reopen from Monday 5th April, it has been confirmed today (30th March).

The announcement came from Scotland's First Minster Nicola Sturgeon, and salons and barbershops must operate on an appointment-only basis, only perform hair treatments, and follow COVID-19 strict guidelines.  Appointments must take place within the salon/barbershop, and not in clients' homes.

Students studing for beauty and hairdressing qualifications in further education will be able to return to on-site training from 5th April also.

However, beauty salons, nail salons, spas and complementary therapy clinics must remain closed until Monday 26th April at the earliest.

Scotland's Stay At Home guidelines will change on Friday 2nd April to Stay Local for at least three weeks.
