Mood launches AI colour assistant for salon professionals

Professional hair brand Mood has launched Mood Angel, a virtual technician designed to provide salons and colourists with instant technical and educational support.

Available exclusively to qualified salon professionals using Mood products, the AI-powered portal draws on official Mood Hair Colour documentation. Users can submit questions and receive brand-specific guidance, recommendations and product solutions at any time.

Mood Angel can answer queries ranging from patch testing to formulas for bleach, permanent and demi-permanent colour services. It also offers guidance on developers and activators.

When a formula is requested, the virtual technician asks the stylist questions about the client's hair before generating a tailored Mood formula. This can include mixing ratios, processing time and the appropriate developer strength.

Stylists can also use the system to explore the Mood shade range and colour charts. Its consultation tools can create personalised prescriptions to share with clients, covering colour and non-colour appointments such as cuts, blow-dries and treatments.

Educational support spans colour techniques, toning, grey coverage, cutting foundations and professional use of the wider Mood range.
