Nail Art Step by Step: Negative Space

For clients who like their nails to be unique but prefer a more subtle design, Salon System nail expert Jaz Moger has created a Negative Space design using Gellux gel polishes, which you can recreate in your salon.


Step #1
Prep the nails. File to shape, push back the cuticle and buff the nail plate. Cleanse nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe apply a coat of Gellux Rose Pink Builder Gel cure for 60 seconds.

Step #2
Using a fine liner nail art brush, paint a half moon shape at the bottom of the nail with Gellux Sky's The Limit.

Step #3
Start to paint above the line.

Step #4
Paint the rest of the nail and cure.

Step #5
Apply a second coat of Sky's The Limit (and a third if you feel like it needs it) and cure. Finally, finish with a coat of Gellux Super Shiny Top Coat. Once cured, wipe over the nails with Gellux Prep + Wipe and oil the cuticles.
