More salons in England forced into lockdown

Further to the latest announcement from the UK government, more beauty and hair businesses are being forced to close from Boxing Day (26th December) as their locations enter Tier 4 of England's COVID-19 regulations.

Tier 4 restrictions prevent businesses offering close contact services, including hairdressers, beauty salons, nail salons, barbers and complementary therapies. This includes within salon, barbershop and spa environments as well as mobile services in clients' homes.

Regions entering Tier 4 from 26th December include:

      • Sussex
      • Oxfordshire
      • Suffolk
      • Norfolk
      • Cambridgeshire
      • All of Essex (some areas already in Tier 4)
      • Waverley in Surrey
      • Hampshire, with the exception of the New Forest

Businesses operating in Tier 1, 2 or 3 regions must continue to follow the government's guidelines; if you are unsure, please contact your Local Authority.
