England's Tier 4 beauty & hair businesses must close

Beauty and hair businesses located with England's new Tier 4 areas must close from Sunday 20th December, Prime Minster Boris Johnson has announced today (19th December).

All non-essential retail and close contact services may not operate, for a period of up to two weeks, after which the Tier 4 level will be reviewed on 30th December. 

This affects businesses located in the following regions of England:

  • All of London
  • Kent
  • Buckinghamshire
  • Berkshire
  • Surrey excluding Waverley
  • Gosport
  • Havant
  • Portsmouth
  • Rother and Hastings
  • Bedford
  • Central Bedford
  • Milton Keynes
  • Luton
  • Peterborough
  • Hertfordshire
  • Essex excluding Colchester, Uttlesford and Tendring
The Tier 4 rules will come into effect at midnight tonight.

Businesses operating in Tier 1, 2 or 3 regions must continue to follow the government's guidelines; if you are unsure, please contact your Local Authority.
