Fenty Beauty named among 2017's best

Time magazine has named Rihanna's make-up line Fenty Beauty as one of 25 of the best inventions of 2017.

The range, launched in September, was created by the superstar to match all users' skin tones with 40 shades of foundation and 20 correcting concealers.

Commenting at the time of the launch, Rihanna said: "Makeup is like a secret weapon. “It can go from very subtle to a complete transformation."

She added: "With every product I was like, 'there needs to be something for a dark-skinned girl, there needs to be something for a pale-skinned girl and everything in between'."

The Fenty Beauty range was created by Rihanna to match all users' skin tones with 40 shades of foundation and 20 correcting concealers.

Rihanna used a diverse range of ambassadors for her launch, which included Chinese model Huan Zhou, British model Leomie Anderson and South Sudanese model Duckie Thot.

The line was developed in partnership with the brand's parent company Kendo, although Rihanna is said to have had 100% involvement, and is now focussing on developing new collections within the Fenty Beauty range. Vogue lauded the brand for its "finely-milled and velvety" powders and "ultra-blendable" liquid formulas.

Other products to have made Time's annual unranked list include the Jibo personal robot, Halo Top low-sugar ice cream, and the Apple iPhone X.

Fenty Beauty is available in the UK exclusively from Harvey Nichols.
