Northern Irish salons to open on 11th December

Beauty salons, hairdressers, nail salons and barbers in Northern Ireland will be allowed to reopen from Friday 11th December, it has been announced.

The beauty and hair sector was forced to close again on 27th November due to Covid-19 Restrictions under a circuit breaker period.

Businesses reopening on 11th December must operate on an appointment-only basis, with social distancing in place.

Salons should also ensure that they keep a temporary record of clients and visitors for 21 days in line with the Executive's Test, Trace and Protect system.

Northern Ireland's First Minister, Arlene Foster, stated that no further restrictions would be implemented prior to Christmas.

The Executive's guide for keeping workers and clients safe in close contact services can be found here.

Salons should ensure that they are operating within the guidelines, and contact their Local Authority should they require further clarification.
