Hair & Beauty Charity offers help to most in need

The Hair & Beauty Charity is reminding those working within our industry that help is available for those facing extreme financial difficulties due to being unable to work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The charity is emphasising that help is available to those who need it most urgently, with priority given to households where only one adult, who would usually work within the industry, provides the only income to the household. Help will be prioritised to those who:

  • become ill or disabled
  • have a terminal illness
  • suffer mental health problems
  • are homeless
  • are carers for elderly relatives, children, spouses/partners or other dependents
  • have suffered a bereavement, often the main bread-winner
  • are without sufficient income to meet basic needs
Financial help is not available for applicants with savings of £500, or account balances that consistently do not fall below £500, or whose income is significantly higher than their expenditure. Assistance is also unavailable for business costs, debt (incl. rent arrears, bankruptcy fees etc.), major house repairs or renovations, or training and equipment costs.

If you are experiencing extreme financial difficulties as a result of the coronavirus, you can make an  application to the Hair & Beauty Charity online. Charity trustees have ring-fenced funds specifically to help those most in need.

Information on benefits and financial assistance can be found on the government website.

Individuals or companies who would like to make a donation towards the Hair & Beauty Charity Relief Fund can do so via the Just Giving page.
