Extent of UK's beauty tool waste highlighted

Rebecca Crawforth, CEO and Founder of beauty tool brand Navy Professional, is highlighting the extent of beauty tool waste in the UK.

According to Rebecca, up to 1.3 million beauty tools are sent to landfill in the UK each month. Rebecca bases this on Mintel and CEW 2018 reports which identify over 260,000 workers in the UK beauty sector, and believes that if all tools discarded were laid end-to-end, they would stretch from Edinburgh to Paris.

She says:

“The amount of wastage in the beauty industry is truly shocking, and as more of us invest in beauty treatments, it's essential that we make every effort to become more ethical in the choices we make. The UK is flooded with sub-standard tools that end up in landfill sites up and down the country in a matter of weeks. It has to change.

"I saw an opportunity to address this, and so my businesses is designed to address the issue and provide an eco-friendly option for conscientious consumers.”

Rebecca's brand, Navy Professional, offers tools made using a unique titanium coating which makes them durable and hygienic. Tools are said to be favourites amongst celebrities including Gigi Hadid, Kylie Jenner and Hayley Bieber.
