Chop Chop reveals gender-neutral pricing

A London salon chain is aiming to shake up the way the industry offers haircuts, by launching a gender-neutral pricing structure.

Chop Chop London, founded by Kaye Sotomi and Laure Ferrand, now offers clients of all genders hair cuts at the same price point. Designed for time-poor Londoners, gender neutral cuts and styles are each delivered in only 20 minutes costing a flat rate of £20, which can be paid for using the iZettle contactless payment app.

Founder Kaye Sotomi says:

“Chop Chop is all about saving people time and money - from our price points to bringing in technology that makes it easier than ever for people to book and pay on the spot.

“We're thinking about phasing cash out completely - it's much easier to keep a digital track of our payments. People also prefer to tap and pay on iZettle too; 80% of our card payments are contactless.”

She adds:

“It's so important for salons to think about digitalising the process and using technology to make their customers lives as easy as possible - from allowing them to pay in a way that suits them, to having a system where they can give feedback straightaway.”

There are currently two Chop Chop salons in Shoreditch and Westfield, with a new location in Wembley due to open in a few months and more new salons planned.
